On Tuesday evening, Oak Hill freshman Keegan Deaton did what no other Golden Eagle had done before him – pitch a perfect game.
In the five-inning affair, mercy-rule affair, Deaton was flawless on the mound, striking out seven and not allowing a single baserunner in an 18-0 rout of the Tri-Central Trojans.
Oak Hill’s offense give Deaton some help early, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning and five more in the second. Already leading 8-0, the Golden Eagles scored twice in the third, seven times in the fourth, and once in the fifth to the put the game away.
Offensively, Landry Ozmun was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Garrod Creech finished with two hits and four RBI. Tristen Hayes hit a single and a double, while Mark Sevier added a double and a run batted in.
