Dominant first half carries IWU to rout of Spring Arbor

Playing against the defending national champions on Saturday afternoon, the IWU Wildcats took control from the start, scoring 54 first half points en route to a 93-68 triumph over the Spring Arbor Cougars.

IWU made nine of their first 11 shots, with Kyle Mangas and Tanner Rubio combining to score 17 points. IWU increased their lead to 28 points with five minutes remaining in the first half, before eventually taking a 54-34 lead into the halftime break.

The Wildcats shot 61 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, finishing 22-of-36.

The Cougars were unable to mount any kind of comeback effort, as the Wildcats cruised to a 25-point victory.

Mangas continued his scoring frenzy, finishing with 35 points and seven threes. Rubio collected 15 points, Noah Smith 14, and Seth Maxwell 12.
