Eastbrook remains undefeated with win over Woodlan

In what was a scheduling oddity, the Eastbrook Panthers had seven days off between games, having last played on August 19.

To combat rust, coach Rebecca Shrontz made sure to keep practices lively and engaging heading into Saturday’s matchup with the Woodlan Warriors.

“We just picked some different things to work on [each practice,] and made sure to work on a variety of [skills] so they didn’t become [stagnant,] coach Rebecca Shrontz said after the win. “Each day, we worked on a different skill.”

Despite a slow start in the first half, the Panthers picked their game up after halftime and remained undefeated on the season with a 4-2 over the Warriors.

“In the first half we looked kind of flat,” Shrontz said. “You could just tell it had been a little while since they had played. In the second half they really woke up and looked like they enjoyed playing, and they were communicating more.”

Sarah Fulk continued her strong start to the season with another two goal effort, while Naomi Diller and Addison Wine also scored in the Panther’s victory.
