Behind 15 three-pointers on Wednesday evening, the Taylor Trojans took care of business against Goshen on Wednesday evening, completing the series sweep with an 85-49 rout at Odle Arena.
The Trojans got off to a strong start, scoring their first seven field goals from long-range, which helped them take a 14-point lead after the first quarter.
In the second stanza, the Trojans continued to shoot the ball well, scoring 21 points on 52.9 percent shooting, which included a 12-0 run in a three-and-a-half minute stretch.
Taylor shot 50 percent from beyond the arc in the third quarter, and led by as many as 38 points in the fourth before eventually securing the 36-point triumph – the Trojans’ 26th straight win at Odle Arena.
Haley Stratman scored a career-high 21 points on five three-pointers while also collecting five rebounds, one steal, and one assist.
Jamie Netzley was also solid for the Trojans on the offensive end, scoring 16 points and dishing out six assists.
Merideth Deckard recorded 16 points off the bench, while Abby Buchs led the team with 10 rebounds.
Defensively, the Trojans kept the Goshen offense under wraps all evening, limiting the Maple Leafs to just 18 field goals on 28.6 percent shooting.
