For three quarters on Wednesday evening, the Eastbrook Panthers played solid basketball, receiving strong contributions from Johwen McKim and Kristen Goff.
But as has been the trend for the Panthers this year, their offense struggled in the final quarter. They scored just three points in the last eight minutes as the Starfires battled back to win the game by a score of 47-39.
Behind 13 first-half points from McKim, Eastbrook built a 13-7 lead after the first quarter and a 25-20 advantage at halftime.
South Adams, however, began to push back in the third, cutting the Eastbrook lead to 36-34 heading into the final frame. With momentum on their side, the Starfires completed the comeback, outscoring the Panthers 13-3 in the fourth to secure the victory.
McKim finished the game with 13 points, while Goff was second on the team with 12.
