Giants lose big to Harrison in first conference game

Coming off their season opening win over Pendleton Heights, the Marion Giants were unable to carry that momentum into their game with NCC foe Harrison on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Raiders by a score of 64-36.

Marion only trailed 14-9 after the first quarter of play, but the Raiders outscored the Giants 19-7 in the second quarter to take a 33-16 lead at the halftime break.

The Giants were unable to recover, and after a 13-13 third quarter, Harrison scored 18 points in the final quarter to close the game out with authority.

Ellie Vermilion led the Giants in scoring with 16 points, while Ra’Shaya Kyle finished with nine. Olivia Aguilar collected six, while Ashanti Cardine added three.
