Giants’ losing streak hits five in loss to Crispus Attucks

Despite a career game from JK Thomas on Saturday evening at the Bill Green Athletic Arena, the short-handed Marion Giants were unable to get back into the win column, dropping their fifth straight contest in an 81-76 loss to Indianapolis Crispus Attucks.

The two teams played a tightly-contested first quarter, as the Tigers took a 19-18 lead after the first eight minutes. Attucks built a little cushion in the second frame, heading into the halftime break with a 43-36 advantage.

Marion came roaring back in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers 22-15 to tie the game at 58-58, but Attucks regained the lead for good shortly after, eventually securing the five-point victory.

Thomas finished the game with 47 of Marion’s 76 points, while Josh Balfour collected 12 and Francesco Boniciolli added five.
