Golden Eagles end conference schedule with rout of Elwood

After their resounding victory over the Tipton Blue Devils, the Oak Hill Golden Eagles capped off the conference portion schedule with a win, defeating the Elwood Panthers 76-41 on Friday evening.

While Oak Hill Head Coach Kevin Renbarger did not think his team put forth their best performance, he was pleased with how Tahj Johnson and Tristen Hayes played. Johnson continued to showcase his leadership and athleticism on the floor, while Hayes was excellent on the offensive end of the floor.

“I do think that Tahj came out and played a consistent brand of basketball that we have become accustomed to in the last month or so,” Renbarger said. “Tristen had 18 points and shot the ball well from the perimeter. He is continuing to stretch his range which is both good for him and what we want to do on offense.”

Oak Hill finished their CIC slate with a 5-2 record, and will finish off the regular season with home contests against Northwestern and Northfield.

“This is a really big week leading into sectional,” Renbarger said. “We play a really tough Northwestern team Tuesday night with a dynamic player and Friday is Senior night which is always emotional.  We are really just looking to continue good consistent play in preparation for next week.”
