Grant County runners race well in regionals

It was a good day for Grant County runner in the boy’s and girl’s cross country regional race at Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday morning.

Both regional champions were from Grant County schools. Brennan Butche of Mississinewa finished as the boys’ champion with a time of 15:59.9, while Margo Hornocker of Oak Hill finished as the girls’ champion with a time of 18:09.3.

The Oak Hill girls’ cross country team as a whole advanced to the semi-state this coming weekend at New Haven, finishing in first place with a score of 40. The Oak Hill boys’ team also advanced, finishing in fourth place with a score of 130.

Butche, Mississinewa’s Aurora Fisher, Marion’s Jalen Springer and Joel Barnes, and Eastbrook’s Connor White all advanced to the semi-state as individuals.
