Mississinewa increased their winning streak to four games on a miserable Friday night, dominating the Alexandria Tigers in all phases in a 65-7 win.
Since losing to Eastbrook four weeks ago, the Indians have now won four games in a row by double digits.
“Our kids responded really well to the weather,” Mississinewa Head Coach Curt Funk said. “It was a cold, rainy night, and our kids didn’t let that affect them. I thought our running game got going early. We played well on defense, and we played hard on special teams.”
The Indians were in control from the start, leading 53-0 at halftime before scoring 12 more points in the second half.
Mississinewa ends their regular season on the road next Friday night against Blackford.
“We need to continue working on ball security. We need to get better on open field tackling and sustaining blocks,” Funk said. “Those three things, they sound simple, but they can be harder to execute. I think those are three areas we need to really work on.”
