Behind another stout defensive effort on Saturday afternoon, the IWU Wildcats won their fourth straight contest, defeating the Spring Arbor Cougars 46-43 at Luckey Arena.
Despite scoring a season-low 19 points in the first half, their defense kept Spring Arbor under wraps, holding them to just 15 points in the first two quarters.
The second half was close as well, but the Wildcats prevailed, using 19 turnovers, including seven steals, to help secure the victory.
Carly Lange and Madison Davis each finished with 12 points to pace the Wildcats, while Lange also collected seven rebounds.
Lange, Jene’e Goodwin, Elaina Ededuwa, and Stephanie Conrad were honored on Saturday for their service to Wildcats hoops. The quartet has collected 86 wins in their time at IWU, helping the Wildcats to three NAIA National Championship appearances. Furthermore, they helped the Wildcats post decade highs in points scored in a season, three-pointers made, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, total rebounds, offensive rebounds per game, and blocks per game.
