For the first time in 17 games, the Taylor Trojans were victorious over the IWU Wildcats, as the Trojans used a huge first-half run to take control early and come away with a 62-50 win on Wednesday night.
The Wildcats scored the first eight points of the game, but the Trojans responded with a 22-3 surge, which was part of a bigger 33-12 run, to take their big lead. Furthermore, the Trojans’ defense held the Wildcats to a first half low 20 points.
“It was a good battle,” head coach Ethan Whaley said. “I thought we fought in spurts tonight. At the end of the day, Taylor made more tough plays.”
Anna Imhoff finished with a career-high 30 points, while Brittany Washington finished with 16 points, six rebounds, and two assists in the loss.
