IWU earns third season series sweep of 2019, defeats Goshen in two games

The IWU Wildcats came away with another series sweep on Saturday afternoon, defeating Goshen College 3-0 and 12-4 in a two-game series. McKenzey Ridge was brilliant on the mound in game one, while the Wildcats used nine hits to win game two.

In the opener, Ridge earned her 23rd victory of the season, allowing just two Goshen runners to reach third base. Furthermore, she allowed just four hits while recording four straight three up, three down innings.

Mackenzie Brown extended her winning streak to 12 games, finishing with two hits, two RBI, and a run scored.

In the nightcap, the Wildcats scored five runs in the second inning and never trailed, scoring at least one run in each of the following four innings. Trinity Medina went 3-for-4 from the plate in the game, plating one run and scoring another.

Lauren Buckley continued to inch closer to immortality, stealing another base to give her 46 on the season and 129 for her career. She needs just 29 more stolen bases to pass Holly Weaver for the most in Crossroads League history.
