On Saturday afternoon, the IWU Wildcats ended the 2018 regular season with a victory, defeating the Grace College Lancers in three sets (25-13, 25-19, 25-16). The Wildcats took control from the first serve and did not relinquish it.
Ana Collar played a stellar game on Saturday, coming away with a team-best 12 kills and a .500 attack percentage to go along with 11 digs and two block assists.
Furthermore, six different Wildcats combined for eight blocks in the victory. Allison Sparrow led the way with one solo block and four block assists.
Prior to the match, defensive specialist Alexis Rutt, the team’s lone senior, was recognized for her accomplishments and thanked for her contributions to the IWU volleyball program.
“I couldn’t be more proud of this team,” IWU Head Coach Candace Moats said. “I love the passion that they are sharing together. Today Ana Colar was phenomenal. It is exciting to watch freshmen break out and have big moments. And I couldn’t be more proud of our one senior Alexis Rutt who has left an incredible legacy that our team will miss.”
IWU will host Spring Arbor University in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday, November 3. The match is set to begin at 7 pm.
