The Wildcats came away with their second doubleheader split of the season on Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Shawnee State Bears 8-1 in the first game before dropping a 5-3 decision in the second contest.
In game one, second baseman Judah Wollenburg had a monster outing at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBI. Wollenburg hit a RBI single in the second inning and a grand slam in the sixth inning to blow the game wide open.
Jacob Gividen (1-0) earned his first victory of the season, throwing four innings of one-run ball while striking out two and allowing just three hits in the victory.
In game two, Caleb Eder hit an RBI single in the second inning to give the Wildcats a 3-2 advantage, but the Bears scored three runs on a hit, four walks, and an error to take a 5-3 lead they would not relinquish.
Cameron Harvey (0-1) took the loss for the Wildcats, giving up three runs (two earned) and three walks in just 0.2 innings of work.
