On Monday afternoon, the IWU Wildcats picked up their first two wins of the 2020 season, sweeping Ohio Christian University in a two-game set. The Wildcats won the first contest 13-0 and the second contest 6-1.
Denver Blinn put together an outstanding two games, finishing five-for-six from the dish and collecting eight RBI.
In game one, the Wildcats took a 10-0 lead after the first two innings and were never threatened. Blinn finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, seven RBI, and stolen base, and two runs scored, while Tye Thixton collected three hits, a double, an RBI, and four runs scored.
On the mound, Conner Cantrell struck out five in six innings, allowing just four hits, while Parker Johnson struck out two in his lone inning of work to complete the shutout.
As a team, the Wildcats recorded 15 hits in the opening rout.
In the second contest, Colby Jenkins finished with three RBI and a triple, while Jake Engelkes, Cam Saunders, and Tanner Killian combined for seven strikeouts and just one earned run.
