On Saturday night, the Wildcats were unable to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to Aquinas College.
After 77 minutes of a scoreless tie, Aquinas’ Nic Ellingboe scored off a corner kick to give the Saints the lead, and ultimately, the victory.
Despite taking the loss, the Wildcats dominated the Saints in shots by a margin of 19-8 while also holding a slight 10-9 advantage in corner kicks.
“I thought from our defensive end line to the top of the eighteen I couldn’t have asked for more from our guys”, Sanford said after the loss. “Unfortunately, you have to win boxes to win games. It wasn’t that we didn’t create chances – we just didn’t finish opportunities.”
