For the sixth straight year, the IWU Wildcats advanced to the Crossroads League Championship, defeating defending national champion Spring Arbor by a score of 102-75.
IWU started the game red hot, shooting 61 percent from the field and 50 percent from deep in the opening 20 minutes, building a 53-37 lead in the process. The Wildcats’ lead remained unthreatened in the second half, as they punched their ticket to the league championship.
Junior Kyle Mangas cemented his IWU legacy on Saturday, scoring 24 points to become the Wildcats’ all-time leading scorer, surpassing all-time great Perry Frank. Furthermore, Mangas moved up to No. 11 all-time in the Crossroads League scoring list.
Three other Wildcats finished in double-figures. Tanner Rubio recorded 17 points, missing just one shot, Seth Maxwell collected 15, and Noah Smith added 14.
