The Giants improved their record to 2-0 on the year with a commanding 70-49 win over Harrison on Saturday afternoon.
Kyle had a monster game, recording her second double-double in a row with 24 points, 24 rebounds, and seven blocks in the Giants’ victory.
Even so, Lawson was proud of the effort his whole team put forth against Harrison.
“It was a total team contribution,” Jordan said after the win. “Yes, [Rashaya had a big game,] but it’s more than just her. Jazmyn Turner has been handling the ball well, Ellie has been knocking down shots, and Ayana is starting to become a force in the post. It’s not just one person, it’s a team effort.”
The Giants now have two wins in their first two games. They are leaps and bounds from where they were a season ago, and it has shown in their play.
“We put a lot of hard work into our practices, and it’s starting to show,” Jordan said. “I wasn’t here last year and I wasn’t a part of that, so I’m just [moving the team] forward. They’ve been buying in, they’ve been working hard, and we are starting to see some success.”
