Maxwell brothers lead charge in IWU’s win over Goshen

Seth and Evan Maxwell combined for 39 points and 16 rebounds on Saturday afternoon, helping the IWU Wildcats come away with an 86-58 victory over Goshen College.

With the win, IWU increased their winning streak to eight, improving to 11-1 on the season and 3-0 in the Crossroads League. Furthermore, the victory marked IWU’s 19th straight over Goshen since 2009.

With Kyle Mangas out of the lineup once again, Seth Maxwell got the start in his place and put together an incredible performance, notching his first collegiate double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

“I thought today was Seth Maxwell’s best performance,” IWU Head Coach Greg Tonagel said. “What I liked most was the five offensive rebounds. It shows great effort and that is what we focus on, the effort.”

The Wildcats held the Maple Leafs to 58 points and 34 percent shooting, both season lows. Goshen ended up shooting just 24-of-70 from the floor.

Evan Maxwell led all players with 21 points, while Trevor Waite collected 13 points off the bench in the Wildcats’ victory.
