MG falls in sectional final to Mississinewa

Madison-Grant’s 2018 season came to a close on Thursday evening, as the Argylls were defeated by the Mississinewa Indians 4-1.

With the win, the Indians won their first ever sectional title in girls’ tennis.

Cleaver was swept at No. 1 singles by Mississinewa’s Haleigh Rowley, while Bramel only won one game in a 1-6, 0-6 loss to Heidi Rowley at No. 2 singles. Whybrew did not fare much better against Tyra Stanley, dropping a 1-6, 3-6 decision at No. 3 singles.

Comer and Wilson played a competitive second set at No. 2 doubles, but ultimately fell 1-6, 4-6 to Abigail Tignor and Maggie Herring.

Madison-Grant’s lone win came at No. 1 doubles, as Crouse and Butcher defeated Heavyn Miller and Gabby Stephenson 6-0, 7-5.

The Argylls finished the season with a 12-10 record.
