In a final tune-up before the annual Grant Four tournament, the Oak Hill Golden Eagles put another one in the win column on Friday evening, defeating the Northfield Norsemen by a score of 11-5.
The contest was tied 1-1 after the first inning, but the Golden Eagles took control in the second, scoring five runs to take a 6-1 advantage – one they would not relinquish. Oak Hill added three runs in the fourth, one in the fourth, and one in the seventh to secure the six-run victory.
Julianne Gosnell picked up the win, striking out seven and allowing just two earned runs in four innings of work. Mariah Camden pitched well in relief, allowing three run and striking out two in the final three frames.
Kaela Robey, Korinne Perkins, and Kaleigh Hollars combined for nine hits, five RBI, and two runs scored, while Ashlyn Transier added a two-run home run.
