After three tough losses to Manchester, Blackford, and Western in their last three contests, the Oak Hill Golden Eagles were able to get back into the win column on Tuesday evening, defeating the Eastbrook Panthers by a score of 12-3.
Oak Hill scored in all but one inning, recording nine hits and taking advantage of eight Eastbrook errors.
“We finally got our bats going a little,” Oak Hill Head Coach Shane Edwards said. “We had good energy as well.”
After taking a 1-0 lead after the second frame, the Golden Eagles found their offensive grove, scoring five runs in the third inning to increase their advantage to 6-0. Oak Hill added two runs in each of the following three innings to secure the nine-run triumph.
Evan Pearce, Ryan Younce, and Danny Nally each finished with two hits for the Golden Eagles, while Landry Ozmun, Tristan Hayes, and Nally each drove in a run.
Nally earned the win on the mound for Oak Hill, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out six in six innings of work.
Blake Mitchell, Austin Castillo, and Joshua Pluimer each had two hits for the Panthers, while Pluimer and Dylan Bragg each recorded an RBI.
