Panthers win sixth straight with triumph over Heritage

After a scoreless first half on Monday night, the Eastbrook Panthers scored twice after halftime to record their sixth straight victory – a 2-1 win over the Heritage Patriots.

The Patriots played a different defense then the Panthers had seen – one where eight players were stacked in the box in front of the goalie. But once they were able to draw those defenders forward, the Panthers were able to create scoring opportunities.

“It was an ugly game,” Eastbrook Head Coach Jamie Hallis said. “They had it really packed in, so we just had to keep at it. They didn’t give up, and they didn’t get discouraged. They worked until they could break down the defense.”

Chloe McDaniel assisted on both of Eastbrook’s goals. She made a great pass to Sarah Foulk for the first tally, then followed that with another excellent cross to Natalie Lakanen, who scored the Panthers’ final goal, securing the victory.
