Stitt scores 15, but Argylls fall to Broncos

Despite another hard-fought effort on Tuesday evening, the Madison-Grant Argylls dropped their eighth straight decision as they were defeated by the Daleville Broncos, 48-31.

The two teams went toe-to-toe throughout the first half, with the Broncos leading by just five points at halftime. However, a 16-3 third quarter for Daleville helped assume control of the contest.

“We had a stretch in the second half where we got down 15 almost immediately after half then cut it back to single digits,” Madison-Grant Head Coach Brandon Bradley said. “We just had a couple of stretches where we missed easy shots and got a little sloppy with the ball…that allowed them to pull away.”

Blayklee Stitt was excellent for the Argylls all evening long, scoring a season-high 15 points and playing with a lot of confidence.

“She played within herself and let the game come to her many more possessions than she has in the past,” Bradley said of Stitt. “I was thrilled with how she’s been willing to adjust her game.”

With just four games before the tournament, Bradley is looking for his team to finish strong.

“I just want to see them continue to play hard and compete,” Bradley said. “That’s the biggest thing for me at this point in the season.”
