For the first time in nearly eight years, the Taylor Trojans defeated cross-county rival Indiana Wesleyan University, using a 26-3 run over a nine-minute span to take control and ultimately defeat the Wildcats, 68-56, on Wednesday night.
IWU made their first three shots of the game to take an early 8-0 lead, but the Trojans had their 26-3 surge over the final eight minutes of the first quarter and the opening minute of the second quarter to take a 26-11 lead they would not relinquish.
Taylor led by as many as 20, and their lead did not drop below nine points the rest of the way.
The Trojans defeated their fifth Top-25 ranked opponent this season, tying a program best set back in the 2004-2005 season. Along with that, the Trojans only had seven giveaways, their fewest since recording seven in their December 2013 victory over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Bradbury scored 20 or more points in her 17th straight game, finishing with 24 to go along with 10 rebounds. Cassidy Wyse recorded 19 points and five boards, while Josie Cobb chipped in eight points, six rebounds, and four assists in the victory.
