Taylor loses first game of season, falling to Thomas More College
Despite a strong start to their contest against Thomas More College on Friday night at Odle Arena, the Taylor Trojans lost their first game of the 2019-2020 campaign, going scoreless over the final 4:25 in a 60-55 defeat.
The Trojans opened the game with authority, hitting seven of their first eight shots to take a 17-5 lead with 12:57 to go in the first half. Taylor increased their lead to 22-7 and 26-11, but cooled off over the final seven minutes to take a 33-22 lead at halftime.
After CJ Penha hit two baskets on Taylor’s first two possessions of the second half, the Saint cut into their lead, trimming it to single digits as the Trojans’ offense quickly went cold.

A three from Vincent Miranda and a field goal from James McCloud gave Taylor a 55-51 advantage, but the Trojans were held off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
