On Thursday afternoon in Goshen, the Taylor Trojans recorded their ninth 10-run outing of the season, opening Crossroads League play with a 10-3 victory over the Maple Leafs.
Taylor scored six runs in the first two innings and led the rest of the way, collecting eight hits in the two frames. Nick Rusche collected two of those knocks, which included a two-run home run.
The Trojans added three more runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach. TJ Bass recorded an RBI double, and Ben Kalbaugh followed with a two-run single.
Conner Crawford increased his hitting streak to 10 games, going five-for-five at the dish. The sophomore finished with one double and two runs scored. Through 15 games, Crawford has a .382 batting average and a .564 slugging percentage.
Luke Shively earned his fourth victory of the season, fanning seven Goshen hitters over five innings of work.
