After a close first half, the Taylor Trojans faded after halftime, falling to No. 8 Benedictine University by a score of 17-6 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Trojans struggled on the offensive end of the field in the second half and managed just 25 total shots while committing 25 turnovers.
The Ravens took a 7-3 lead at halftime before playing the contest open with six goals in the third quarter. Benedictine outshot Taylor 17-3 in the frame and led 13-3 heading into the final quarter.
Grant Gerig scored four of Taylor’s six goals, while Nathaniel Phinney finished with one goal and one assist. Ian McClain also tallied, while Chad Nelson collected six ground balls.
