Trojans drop a pair of close games to Goshen

After winning the first game of their three-game set with Goshen, the Trojans dropped the final two games, falling to the Maple Leafs by scores of 4-3 and 7-4.

TU struggled to bring runners home in the first game despite recording six base hits and three walks, and in the top of the seventh, the Trojans found themselves trailing 3-0.

Taylor rallied to tie the contest, as Matt Dutkowski, Conner Crawford, and Ben Kalbaugh each collected run-scoring hits, but Goshen recorded a walk-off single in the bottom half of the frame to secure the triumph.

In the second contest, after Goshen opened the scoring in the second inning, the Trojans answered with four straight runs to take a 4-1 lead in the sixth. Christian McGill plated two of those runs, collecting a single with the bases loaded. Kade Vander Molen recorded his second home run of the season, while a RBI single from Nick Rusche capped off the scoring.

Goshen finished the contest with six unanswered runs, including three in the bottom of the eighth, to clinch the series.
