For the second time in their first three games, the Taylor Trojans came away with a victory, defeating Trine University by a score of 14-12 on Tuesday afternoon.
Taylor grabbed an early lead, scoring the first three goals in the first eight minutes. Katie Turner tallied twice, while Grace Allan recorded the third goal.
Trine rallied, scoring six of the next seven goals, but Greta Moore scored twice, and Turner scored twice more to give the Trojans an 8-6 halftime advantage.
Taylor held leads of 9-6, 10-7, 11-8, and 12-10 in the second half, before Trine drew even at 12-12 with 4:22 remaining.
But Turner’s sixth goal of the night proved to be the game winner, and a Moore tally 34 seconds later helped the Trojans seal the two-goal triumph.
Turner added an assist to go along with her six goals, while Moore finished with three goals and three assists. Allan also scored three times, while Addison Perry added two.
