Trojans fall in four sets to Grace College

Three Trojans reached double-digit kills, but it was not enough, as Taylor fell in four sets to Grace College on Wednesday evening (21-25, 15-25, 25-14, 16-25).

Becca Gerig tallied 16 kills, while Kayla Springer finished with 12 and Addy Bailey added 10 terminations of her own.

In the first set, the Trojans built a 15-10 lead, but the Lancers scored 11 of the next 13 points to take a four point advantage. Taylor closed the gap to 22-20, but multiple Trojan hitting errors sent them to a 25-21 defeat.

Grace dominated the second set, recording 17 kills and a .441 attack percentage in a 25-15 victory.

The Trojans bounced back in the third set, tallying 13 kills and a .323 attack percentage in a 25-14 triumph.

However, Grace regained their composure in the fourth and final set, cruising to a 25-16 win.

Haley Harrell led the team in assists (33) and digs (19), while Gerig finished with 17 digs in the loss.
