Trojans fall to NCAA DIII Manchester

On Tuesday afternoon, the Taylor Trojans lost their third straight game by three runs or less, falling to Manchester University by a score of 6-5.

Taylor led 5-3 after the fifth inning, but were unable to hold onto their advantage.

The Trojans took their first lead in the bottom of the third, scoring four of their runs in the frame. Matt Dutkowski recorded an RBI double, while Ben Kalbaugh gave the Trojans the advantage with an RBI single.

TU increased their lead to two runs in the fifth, as Jacob Morris scored Dutkowski with an RBI single.

However, the Spartans responded, scoring single runs in each the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to secure the victory.

The Trojans committed four errors in the game, which resulted in two unearned runs.

Dutkowski went 2-for-4 on the afternoon, collecting the sixth multi-hit performance of his career and team-best seventh double, while Kalbaugh came away with three hits.
