The Taylor Trojans’ losing streak continued on Saturday afternoon, as the No. 9 Siena Heights Saints used a high-scoring second quarter to hand TU a 21-10 defeat, their fourth straight overall and their second straight at home.
The first quarter was fairly even, as the Saints led 4-3 after 15 minutes of play, but Siena Heights took over from there, outscoring the Trojans 15-5 in the second and third quarters. Along with that, the Saints outshot the Trojans by a whopping 42-9 margin.
Despite a valiant effort, the Trojans were unable to put a dent into Siena Heights’ sizeable advantage.
Josiah Peterson and Tyler Gerig each netted three goals, while Ian McClain came away with two goals and eight ground balls. Grant Gerig added two goals, three assists, and six ground balls.
Nathan Sahly led the defense with nine groundballs and two caused turnovers, while Teegan Heiniger paced the Trojans with 16 faceoffs wins. Kyle Mongoven recorded 18 saves for Taylor in the loss.
