Wildcats clinch share of Crossroads League title, end regular season with 31 victories

In their final match of the regular season, the IWU Wildcats clinched a share of their 10th Crossroads League championship, defeating the Bethel Pilots in three sets (25-15, 25-20, 25-13).

With the win, the Wildcats finished with a 31-1 record, which included a 17-1 mark in Crossroads League play.

“I am extremely proud of how my team played and grew this season,” IWU Head Coach Candace Moats said. “What they accomplished on and off the court is something they should be proud of.”

Allison Sparrow led the Wildcats with 12 kills, while Marci Miller collected 11 and Ana Collar finished with 10. For the match, IWU recorded a .417 hitting percentage.

Alex Falcone wrapped up a tremendous regular season with 45 assists.

For the season, IWU was just one of two teams in the country with one loss, the other being rival Marian University. Marci Miller led the Wildcats with 348 kills, while Rachel Klitzing finished with 315 and Kelly Miller collected 313.

Falcone finished in the NAIA Top-10 in assists, racking up 1,203 of them.

As a team, IWU sits #2 in the country in assists per game, hitting percentage, and kills per-game.
