Wildcats drop second straight contest in 10-point defeat to Spring Arbor

On Saturday afternoon, the IWU Wildcats suffered their second upset loss in as many games, as the Spring Arbor Cougars used proficient shooting from the perimeter to come away with a 96-86 victory.

Five players finished in double figures for the Cougars, who shot 50.8 percent for the game and an incredible 57.9 from beyond the arc. It was just the second win for Spring Arbor in the last 12 games against IWU.

The Cougars got off to a great start, knocking down five of their first shots from deep to help build a 19-14 lead. The game was pretty back-and-forth from there, and with 15 minutes left to go, IWU pulled ahead on a Seth Maxwell field goal.

However, the Cougars responded with a 20-6 spurt, giving them a lead they would not relinquish. The Wildcats would get no closer than five points the rest of the game.

Joel Okafor led the Wildcats with 21 points, while Kyle Mangas scored 19. Luke Barber paced the Spring Arbor offense with 22 points.
