In their second straight game against a Top-25 ranked opponent, IWU once again fell short, as turnovers and missed free throws hurt the Wildcats in a 57-51 loss to No. 22 ranked Cardinal Stritch.
After turning the ball over 38 times against Concordia, the Wildcats’ ball security issues continued against Cardinal Stritch, as they committed 21 turnovers in the contest.
Furthermore, IWU has really struggled from the charity stripe in their first two games, making just 21 of their 41 attempts from the foul line, a woeful 52 percent.
“We didn’t bounce back the way we had hoped,” IWU Head Coach Ethan Whaley said. “Stritch dictated the pace of the game and we did nothing about it. The tougher team won today.”
Nicole Ignasiak recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Carly Lange, Dayton Groninger, and Elaina Ededuwa each scored seven in the Wildcats’ loss.
