Wildcats record stunning upset, defeat No. 10 Saint Francis on the road

Coming off their conference opening loss to Mount Vernon, the IWU Wildcats bounced back in a big way on Wednesday evening, picking up their biggest win of the season in a 75-62 upset of No. 10 Saint Francis.

Wednesday’s victory marked IWU’s first over a Top-10 team since December 6, 2017, when they defeated No. 4 Marian.

Former Oak Hill standout Adrianna Trexler, who has really come on as of late, led the charge against the Cougars, scoring a career-high 18 points on six-for-six shooting, while knocking down all six of her free throw attempts.

Carly Lange and Baylie VanDyke each finished with 10 points.

IWU’s offense was efficient all evening, shooting 51 percent from the field, while their defense was stout, holding Saint Francis to just 34 percent.
