For the second time in six days, the IWU Wildcats snatched a victory over Grace College, defeating the Lancers 78-58 in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals at Luckey Arena last Tuesday evening.
After a tightly contested first quarter in which the two teams played to a 14-14 tie, the Wildcats began to pull away in the second quarter, outscoring the Lancers 23-14 to grab an advantage that would not relinquish.
Carly Lange finished the contest with a team-high 20 points, the most she has scored against a Crossroads League opponent this season. Her seven made field goals were a season high.
Madison Davis shot the ball well from three-point range all evening, knocking down six of her eight attempts for 17 points. As a team, IWU tied a season-high with 13 made threes.
The Wildcats shot 42.4 percent (28-of-66), while holding the Lancers to just 18 total field goals in the contest.
