O ne of the most popular features in The News Herald is the weekly column, “Where’s Mike?,” written by Mike Roorbach, brother of the paper’s editor and well known man-about-Grant County.
As Mike wrote in his inaugural column:
I have long had an interest in the public interchange of ideas and in adding my voice to the community’s discussion on important issues. [Editor] Doug [Roorbach] has invited me to do that as a special representative for the paper, and to write a column as often as I can find the time.
Finding the time can be a challenge, because, as some of you know, I like to travel, and making the time to write and file a column while I’m on the road might not be easy. As a joke, Doug suggested that I call the column “Where’s Mike?”
I’m taking him up on that idea. I’m going to be talking about where I’m traveling, but also, tweaking the idea of “Where’s Mike?” a bit, I’ll be talking about where I am on issues, where my thoughts are, where my heart is and where I am spiritually, among other things.
Below are links to some of his past columns, starting with the most recent. Mike invites your comments and reactions to his column. Drop him an email at: Mike@newsherald.org
